Kuljimme Compostella de Santiagoa viimeisen 100 km matkalta. Ryhmämme ajoi kahdella autolla etsien sopivia reittejä pyörätuolilla kulkea. Löysimme joitakin ......emme voi sanoa esteettömiä, mutta mahdollisia 5-10 km pätkiä, jotka sitten jalan´´ kuljimme. Minä fillaroin käsifillarilla, toinen Marja kelasi pyörätuolilla ja Sari kulki sähköpyörätuolilla. Yhteensä pystyimme näin liikkumaan noin 25 km. Meillä oli koko ajan mukana 2 autoa kuljettajineen ja 2 hyväkuntoista kävelijää.
Vettä satoi lähes joka päivä, silti kuljimme koko matkan tien päähän Santiago de Compostellan Katedraaliin asti ja mikä meitä siellä odottikaan.
Tietysti .... kuinka se voisi muuten ollakaan ...... kaikki on yhtä .....Jumala on suuri ja viisas ..... silmäni kostuivat kyynelistä nähtyäni ensimmäisen 12 papista, joka työnnettiin pyörätuolilla alttarille eteemme. Ymmärsin selkeästi, miksi olin kulkenut tämän fyysisesti ja henkisesti koittelevan pyhiinvaellusreitin ja päätynyt tänne Katedraaliin.
Ikiaikaisessa messussa piispa ja 12 pappia siunasivat kaikki meidät pyhiinvaeltajat.
At the end of the Road
We were
travelling the last 100 kilometers of Compostela de Santiago, our group was
driving two cars trying to find wheelchair accessible routes. We found
something…can’t say unchallenged, but possible 5 to 10 km distances, that we
then took. I was cycling with my hand bike, the other Marja was in her
wheelchair and Sari went with her electric wheelchair. Together we could move
about 25 km. Along the entire way we had a company of two cars with their drivers
and two healthy walkers.
It was
raining nearly every day, nevertheless
we made it till the end of the road, to
Santiago de Compostela Cathedral and what was waiting for us there…
Naturally...how
else could it be...all is one…God is mighty and wise…my eyes watered with tears
after I had seen the first 12 priests that were pushed in wheelchairs to the
altar in front of us. I understood clearly why I had gone through this pilgrim
that was both physically and emotionally challenging and ended up here at the
Cathedral.
In an
ancient mass bishop and 12 priests blessed us all pilgrims.
